The Santa Clara Valley Zero Litter Initiative (ZLI) was formed in 2010 to bring together stakeholders interested in eliminating litter and its impacts throughout the Santa Clara Valley. The ZLI combats this multi-faceted problem by bringing stakeholders together to identify collaborative solutions. Since forming, ZLI has conducted roundtables about litter associated with garbage/recycling collection including a Right-Size Right-Service campaign for locations where dumpsters are contributing litter to the storm drain, transport and disposal pathways. Other topics of interest identified by ZLI stakeholders include litter reduction solutions via business engagement, law/code enforcement and highway/freeway controls. The ZLI is conducting webinars on various topics. On October 2016, the ZLI conducted a webinar on Solid Waste and Stormwater Management. On January 2018, the ZLI conducted a webinar on Stormwater Trash Management. |
